In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. Job Responsibilities:

  • Determines functional objectives and manages organizational performance to achieve and support on-time delivery, quality and cost performance, including creating, maintaining, and optimizing record management, reporting, governance, and compliance
  • Teams with Procurement leadership team to support audit activity, special projects, training, and reporting
  • Ensures compliance with prime contract executive orders, public law, NNSA approved procedures, DEAR/FAR requirements, and appropriate supply chain management principles
  • Fosters continuous improvement approaches, implementing Six Sigma methodologies to increase efficiencies in all aspects of the business
  • Provides direction to analysts and other support staff in metrics management, reporting, audit activities, and training
  • Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; and addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Manages procurement administrative, compliance, analytical, and governance activities in support of the Procurement organization, a team of 150 purchasing professionals responsible for production and non-production products and services
  • Leads a team of analysts and other support personnel to execute strategies to achieve excellence in purchasing administration, including file management, budgets, metrics and governance, data analysis, and Procurement systems
  • Travel as necessary
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to “”stop”” work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, initiate, and execute innovative supply chain best practices and strategies resulting in significant improvements in supply chain operations
  • Strong business acumen with solid analytical, cost management, and quality system awareness
  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate business or technical field in a technical, professional or administrative field
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • US Citizenship required in order to obtain and maintain US Department of Energy Q-level security clearance
  • Eight or more years of multi-functional Supply Chain/Procurement experience for a manufacturing business
  • Advance experience in project/team leadership role with achievement of high quality results and demonstrated technical awareness with the analysis, diagnostic and project management applications of ERP and related business systems
  • Practical experience/compliance with FAR/DEAR procurement requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing procedures, products, services, and supplier management concepts. Must be able to identify and leverage commercial and government contracting and Procurement administration best practices
  • Thorough, applied understanding of and proficiency in FAR/DEAR procurement requirements and ERP and other business systems and applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communications skills
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Business appropriate certification(s) preferred (e.g. CPSM)
